2021 was another strong year for Ageas with net profit at top end of the guidance and inflows close to EUR 40 billion. It was a year that demonstrated our resilience, our focus, and our ability to deliver for the customer, that translated into strong financial results across our operations in Europe and Asia.
I’m very pleased and proud that in a year marked by a challenging economic environment, increasing inflation and extreme weather events, all our businesses delivered a strong commercial and operating performance resulting in double digit growth in inflows and an excellent net result. The Group’s performance was propelled by a strong fourth quarter, especially in Asia, while our focus on less capital intensive Unit-Linked products contributed to the strong increase in the Life result.
Hans De Cuyper,
In a year that brought Connect21 to a close, Ageas also reported on plan and on time its success against each of the financial targets it had set itself three years earlier at the start of the strategic journey.
As we delivered on the targets set out in Connect21, we can look back with satisfaction on the past three years. Through Impact24 we will continue to bring the power and capabilities of the Group into play to help us drive further growth.
Christophe Boizard,
